I am trying to eat or drink a couple of these per day. I was surprised by Hot Chocolate. A nice little indulgence.
1. Spinach
Spinach is high in antioxidants, which help in reducing the slowdown and weakening of learning capabilities and damage of the central nervous system. The rich vitamin C and vitamin E content in spinach is the antioxidant source that helps in this particular case.2. Salmon
One medical study claims that people who eat salmon or sardines once a week are less likely to suffer from dementia in their old age compared to people who seldom eat fish. Eating fish also helps to keep your brain cells more active, hence increasing the capability of learning and stronger memory power.
3. Grape Juice or Red Wine
Grape juice has the effect of longevity. The consumption of red wine will have a similar effect, but if you overindulge, it will negatively affect your nervous system. Therefore, you must drink it moderately. Grape juice or wine contains very high antioxidant elements that are much higher than in any fruits and vegetables; it helps a lot in smoothing and increasing the transmission capability in our nervous system. Other than that, it helps in anti-aging and, in the short term, it also helps in having better memory power.
4. Hot Chocolate
Hot Chocolate is very good for the brain, as well. The density of antioxidant elements in 2 tablespoons of chocolate powder is more than double that of red wine, and it has 3-4 times more antioxidants than in green tea. Therefore, drinking hot chocolate frequently helps in maintaining healthy brain cells and preventing neurological problems.
5. Whole Wheat Products and Brown Rice
Whole wheat products and brown rice are the best food source in helping our body to more efficiently absorb nutrition. Brown rice itself already has many types of vitamins and minerals that really aid our brain power in terms of learning capability and memory.
6. Almonds and Walnuts
Most of the time, almonds and walnuts serve as snacks and decoration on cakes. They are not only delicious, but also very high in antioxidants. They have very rich omega-3 fatty acids that are really good for our brain and, according to Chinese saying, walnuts are good for the brain.
7. Olive Oil
Olive oil has a lot of unsaturated fatty acids, preventing arteries from hardening. This makes olive oil a better choice for cooking.
8. Garlic
Our brain food comes from glucose. In order for glucose to fully show its effect, there needs to be enough proportional vitamin B1. Garlic is not rich in vitamin B1, but it is able to enhance the vitamin B1 capability. Garlic has a strong effect in converting the right glucose, hence our brain will have enough food.
9. Blueberries
Blueberries are extremely high in antioxidants that can clean up the "dirt" inside the body. Frequent consumption of wild blueberries helps a lot in brain cell regeneration, improving memory power, reducing high blood pressure symptoms, and reducing the percentage of having a stroke.
